Delicate Skin

Delicate Skin

A Poem by Pixidust

Wind tantalizingly caresses

Her fragile skin,

A slight tingling sensation,

If only she could feel it.

There is only

Anguish.

Skin pale as the moon,

So tempting to touch,

With temptation comes

Sorrow.

A china doll

Broken inside out.

Smothered.

No one knows the suffering,

No one knows why,

Why when they touch her,

She silently sobs,

Endures.

She waits for the inevitable,

She prays for

An end.

She wants to go as silently as possible,

Leaving as little a mark on the world,

Lessening the burden,

As no one has

For her.

Love’s poison,

She refuses to pass on,

Never A option,

Not for her.
