Down A Mountain

Down A Mountain

A Poem by Lionel Braud

Is there so much longing down here?

The sick longing man has made the road down here

Now I find the road

Is left down here

I see that everything is left down here

How the laughter has grown down here

As I came running around

Running around

The man at the highest peek

Has come down the mountain

Speaking down here only with a message of concern

Of those who drink

Down the mountain of the wish sought

May be broken

I am my laugh

For those who try may cry

Come now

Down the mountain

I have tried so long

That wayward chill

Make a wish

My beloved one

The one who came

Down a mountain

Mountain longing with a hint of Southern blues. . . I hear that song on the wind sometimes.

Very nice poem, your use of words is magical, really lovely :) I feel some sadness to this piece and it seems somewhat personal too, i enjoyed it!

I like how you used repetition in the first stanza and again in the first lines of the second stanza...that part feels like a thought process.

"Down the mountain of the wish sought
May be broken
I am my laugh
For those who try may cry"

"I am my laugh" that's a powerful statement even with the humor there is something strong to it as well and the line after that also adds to that sense of strength...those who try to laugh like you may cry.
