A Story by Lucas Donnan

I type in my four digit code for the last time.
My face appears in the small box on the screen from the camera resting atop it.
I want to do something memorable, something to be remembered by.
I see her standing against an adjacent wall all by her lonesome.
I walk up to her and stop her from speaking.
I kiss her for the first and last time, whispering into her ear.
I leave.
I wasn't in the picture.
