A Poem by Lucinda Crabtree

I said "I love you" I did but he still looked at me with a painstaking, tearful, longing look in his dark eyes,

He sees the coffee jar and he thinks its a recreational drug,

We all can determine what he will say,

"cheers" as he slurps his beer that hits his stoach with disoriented thump,

He cries alot he sits and cries because he can't stand the huge fountain of words that seh says to corrupt his life.

I didn't mean to make you mad,

I just wanted to now how you would describe my feet,

I didn't intend on being so close to someone like you,

Darling don't you listen?

I'm so sweet like candy...

Its not like those 'wuldu' cards because I don't feel like lying to you,

All I want is you to be happy,

I can't imagine life without water,

I kiss your face our so handsome,

you shine like a copper penny,

I  love you,

Your so precious to  me.

Darling i'll run the taps on the  bath for you,

You don't smell sour,

I think its so beautiful the sand I mean,

Just put your feet at the edge of it,

Does it chill your toes?

Go on dive in,

I won't miss  you!
