Broken Girl

Broken Girl

A Poem by Lauren Perry
"

June 5, 2016

"
Twisted and tangled,
her thoughts in circles.

Darkness consumes her,
yet a light still shines.

Chaos and confusion,
questions with no answer.

Promises broken again,
yet faith remains.

Pain and pressure,
the need to please,
but, for what purpose?

Trying to make sense of it all,
making the same mistakes.

Failure
to stop the spiral.

Where is
bottom?

What will become of her?

When will it be enough?

Why is this her story...

Nicely done. Sounds pretty familiar to many others. You say so much here. It's like a concise history of a person's Challenges or dysfunction.

They say you can hear a writers voice if you feel the words being read, and that is exactly what happened to me. This is beautifully written, opened up.

A wide open poem. Left reader in places of thoughts and dangerous situation. The question of love. Sometime a deadly test. Thank you Lauren for sharing the amazing poetry.

I love this piece. It is very simply put forward but in a way that invokes so much emotion. Your words are very well written and many readers will be able to relate. Thank you for sharing this :)
