![]() HomeA Poem by .:Lu:.Streaming sunlight against my window, the small crack in the pane The broken spring in my mattress, the lumps in my pillows The shattered glass on the floor, the hole in the wall What will I miss when I leave this place? The worn shag carpet, the grimy bathroom sink The stairs that creak, the tile that broke bones The T.V. that never works, the couch that is missing its cushion Why am I leaving this place I call home? The crooked front door, the rotting wooden steps The cracked driveway, the dead grass lawn The falling mailbox, the loud neighbors I run and don’t stop, I don’t look back © 2010 .:Lu:. |
