A Poem by .:Lu:.

Streaming sunlight against my window, the small crack in the pane

The broken spring in my mattress, the lumps in my pillows

The shattered glass on the floor, the hole in the wall

What will I miss when I leave this place?

The worn shag carpet, the grimy bathroom sink

The stairs that creak, the tile that broke bones

The T.V. that never works, the couch that is missing its cushion

Why am I leaving this place I call home?

The crooked front door, the rotting wooden steps

The cracked driveway, the dead grass lawn

The falling mailbox, the loud neighbors

I run and don’t stop, I don’t look back

Lol....it's poetry-it can have multiple meanings

Home is where your heart is, not matter what the imperfection. I think many of us hope for a nicer place than the one we have. Nice write and thought provoking. Doing a virtual home tour, got a few things that need fixed up.
