Dying Inside

Dying Inside

A Poem by .:Lu:.

I can hear you still, over hushed voices
But I can't tell you that I'm slipping again
Into the dark, slowly
And eventually, going numb

It'll kill you to know what will happen
But the worse is what I wear
A mask that covers my emotions
To keep you from seeing what I feel

Because it might not be me dying
But it certainly feels like it
So don't think that your quiet silence
Can keep me from knowing

I can year your sobs
And see the falling tears
The reason I never stop them
Is because secretly, I'm crying, too

Walls don't kill the sound
And neither do closed doors
I wish they did, though
So that I wouldn't know
