nowhere to go

nowhere to go

A Poem by Jennifer Welker

dark as daylight
brilliant as the night
a moon kissed chance
chosen by the stars
a haunting need
with unimaginable pain
nowhere to go
but in the moment
as black as her hair
and as fair as her skin
the porcelain cracked

begin again...

dark as daylight
brilliant as the nite
a moon kissed chance
chosen by the stars

dark as daylight
brilliant as the nite
a haunting need
with unimaginable pain

nowhere to go nowhere to go
but in the moment
nowhere to go nowhere to go
but in the moment
as black as her hair
as fair as her skin
the porcelain cracked

as hot as a winter's day (like november in kentucky)
as cold as lies you say
a second chance,
you said would do her well.
as hot as winter day
"as cold as lies", you say
one more try
noone's ready for goodbye

nowhere to go nowhere to go
but in the moment
nowhere to go nowhere to go
but in the moment

as dead as her eyes
as alive as her smile
the porcelain cracked

nothing left to give
swirling lost control

pressure in a steady surge

driven by will

she won't be broken

SHE WON'T BE BROKEN.

Your poem is lovely, I have a simpler style, I like to TRY and get to the essence, but I do see you working something out there with the poem itself.....This is the first one I have read of yours, I will read THEM ALL.
Here is my edit, I added no words, just cut and pasted yours.....sometimes I like to revisit a poem and just chop the hell out of it, cut it down to its bare bones.
Do you like to edit your work after the fact?

A moon kissed chance
Brilliant as the night
A haunting need
Dark as the daylight
And in that moment
The porcelain cracked

One more try
With nowhere to go
As black as her hair,
As fair as her skin
And in that moment
The porcelain cracked

A second chance,
You said would do her well.
"as cold as lies", you say
No one's ready for goodbye

Nothing left to give
Driven by will
She won't be broken
SHE WON'T BE BROKEN.
