Rusting desire

Rusting desire

A Poem by Lyndsay Gaynor

When thoughtless ice
surrounds my heart and mind,
Lying sleepless, cold,
weeping for love of any kind.

Memories rip me,
making me cry,
over feelings for you
I must deny.

Why do I let you
kill and torture me so,
and chain my soul to your body,
I will never know.

Choking on blood,
from my hearts secret lust,
While the chains around me
are starting to rust.

I don’t understand though,
because you don’t know me
                                    I should realize now:
We are nothing alike
and we will never be.

I think you hit a feeling most people can relate to, which makes it immediately interesting.
Great opening lines there also, dug the hooks in and enticed me to read on.

but my only criticism will be, though i feel for what your talking about I'm not sure I'm getting that same feeling from your 'content'. I hope you can understand what I mean.

Overall i did enjoy it anyway.

Keep posting .
