Blood

Blood

A Poem by Lestat's daughter

Nectar of all life on earth,

Food for those who crave it.

That which gives us life can easily be taken away.

Life is so precious, why toy with it?

Some lives are shrowded in darkness,

Others are bathed in light.

Those souls that are hidden by shadows know how to lure others in.

You all ready may be lost to them

To those who's lives still remain in the light,

Remain strong against the darkness.

Once they have you there's no letting go.

You'll end up one of them.

Some don't mind the darkness.

Sucking the lives and souls from others.

Some people wanted it.

I do.

A very "deep" piece...the darkness and the mystery is both enchanting and powerful. Great word choice...brings home your topic quite nicely. The only thing I would suggest is a little edit in terms of punctuation--I saw a few places where periods where used and I think comma's would be better (or no punctuation at all), because the flow gets broken up a little bit. Other than that, this was a nicely written piece and an enjoyable read.

I like your insights about blood and how it is the root of life and so on. You make some interesting points that don't necessarily have anything to do with vampires, which is what I assumed this was about. So a nice surprise there.

...descriptive & truthful

"To those who's lives still remain in the light,

...those of us in the light, fight against the dark from first breath. it's an everyday day battle to not end up 'one of the'

however, it is fasinating..at the same time.

hehehe, Oh how i wish i were a vampire.... I'm just waiting for my vampire prince to come and nibble on my neck... This was a good start, It felt alittle forced to me though... I think it's cause to me it seemed to not have that much flow with it. This was a good poem involving vampires, you made a good point with the darkness and some bathed in light... Some people really are bathed in the darkness, it's like a baptism for the dark and so on with the light... I've met both. This was good. Great Job!

I like this, your outlook is almost as bleak as mine. We should talk sometime.
