Bite Me

Bite Me

A Poem by Indra's Child

You are an old piece of chewing gum
Held together by a rusting wire structure,
Trusting fibers of lint and dust,
Fragments of objects from long past,
Freshly bent pieces of grass
Under a mud stained shoe-
Running from god knows what, on a lawn-
Across the last field you will ever see in your life.
