Prime of your life

Prime of your life

A Poem by Lysrie Mendez

Prime Central

Sacred safeheld

With awkward silences

And blank stares.

Prime Central?

It's a jungle

With sad flowers

And leopards with piercing blue eyes

Those alone could kill

Prime Central?

With gut- wrenching laughs

Sometimes it's not so bad.

I smile at billboards

And videos

But I wouldn't call it Prime Central.

Cause I may not be a flower

But I'm not a leopard

I'm just human
