 -- A collaboration between Elisa Laura and Matt Sayer --

A rainbow road,

                Gold-limned

 And lit by angel’s eyes.

             Crowds of clouds on sideline fence,

Silent cheers,

             Urge us on to rainbow's end:

A pot of paradise,

               Simmering with ambrosia.

Snowflakes shaped by fingertips,

               Raindrop tears from 'side our hips,

And smiling down above heaven’s highway,

                      The moon,

         Is almost half again,

And the crickets, are almost frozen;

                       A candle burns, right in my heart;

             A warm place, of love rebirths,

  Invisible trust, the lands just speak

Of our compassion we embrace,

              This warmth of pure bliss.

     But there is pain, through this beauty,

A smell, of a first kiss....

             Of lips searching,

               Uncertain, impassioned.

Of Hands questing,

               Nervous, determined.

A tune of skipping hearts,

                An arrhythmic orchestra,

            Where the souls sing as one,

                    Immortal,

                           Eternal.

And that feeling, is what you

            Burn in my heart, passion everlasting,

If I could reach out with longer arms,

                I would climb to the stars,

     I would pluck them, make it a neon necklace,

I would whisper it like a rosary of love,

                And caress each one with trembling touch.

For the silver lining of my heart,

                To yours in darkest night,

                     Is so neat, with this heart that bleeds

                                        The passion of our love...

I cross o’er seas, in a speed of fire;

             My heart’s realm has open doors;

Nobody can stop me from this furious love,

    I dance for you, play my lyre,

             And embrace the pain of our fear,

The cliff-edge beckons…

Omg!!! This is the epitome of star-crossed lovers..
To wear a "neon" necklace made of stars, is unlike any
imagery I can ever fathom...Pure...Ethereal...unwavering...
The pain of falling madly in love can drive one over the edge...
But how worthy it is to feel a moment of bliss.

You both ignite such passion in your art!!!
This is an enchanting collaboration...
A rare fine gem, indeed!!!
A Spectacular rebirth

You are welcome Matt:)
This is stunning. The imagery is sublime. Are you two in love? Because that is what this makes me feel. I ache to demonstrate such a feeling for another human being. The words seem to dance with each other as though you are holding hands and leaping from one star to the next on an exploration of love through a galaxy formed by yourselves. Very beautiful, both of you. Quite brilliant, if I do so boast.

Thank you so much Quirklet! :)
I like this poem. Is "limned" intentional, as in depicting a rainbow rather than a literal one?

Thanks KL! It is, the rainbow road is not bound by the constraints of the physical phenomenon :)
