Perfect

Perfect

A Poem by That One Person

"it's alright"

they said when she told them about

the nightmares that destroyed her

the dreams that she knew would never come true

the fears that paralyzed her and dissected her

every single night.

"it's okay"

they said when she told them about

the pressure that seemed to trap her

the expectations that threatened to drown her

the perfection that she knew she had to maintain

every single day.

"everything will be fine"

they said before she couldn't find the strength to tell them anymore and

had to show them instead.

finally they saw her sleepless bloodshot eyes

her crumpled dying spirit

her body waste away

her need to be the perfect one

her insecurities, her pain, her fear

finally they saw right through her shiny facade

through her veneer of perfection

through the lies and false confidence

that wrapped around her like thick suffocating fur coats

and finally they knew

it wasn't alright for her

it wasn't okay for her

nothing was fine for her

because festering in her soul was

the price of perfection

That One Person
A little depressing, sorry about that
Any critique is gratefully welcome, hold nothing back! Hit me with your best shot, I won't be offended. Hate is ok, but for the sake of innocent people(e.g me), try to keep the language clean.
