I need to write a novel for an upcoming competition. This is a rough draft and needs work. Any help is appreciated. It is not a life story just a story that has elements from my life in it. HELP!

I need to know is it boring? does it need more meat? does it grab you in the first few paragraphs? Any help would be great as the competition is next month and I am panicing. This is just the first part of the book. HELP!!
