Fire

Fire

A Poem by magicwhisper
"

What is fire without smoke?

"
It starts with a spark which lights up the room,
A flicker of hope and to something new,
Blink and you miss it, blink? It didn't dare,
The smell of the fuel fills the air,
Be brave, go on dare,
A deep breath notice a whispering stare,
The spark is lit, the fuel is there,
The flames ingulf the smoke begins to part,
For the flames fly up and hit the air,
Oxygen swirls and is sucked in,
Feed it, feed it, feel its heat ,
The heat is immense,
Let go, give in, deep breath in,
Add more fuel,
Brush past the smoke,
Dancing upwards, burning bright,
Inhaling everything in it's sight,
Senses alert - go on do something new.

But then something happens,
Half the flames disappear,
Low but intense,
Hiding its power, bidding its time,
Smoke is building, up replacing flames,
Extinguishing flames bit by bit
Darkness sets in,
The whispers sets in,
All what you hear when the darkness submerges
Is it fact or fiction? It seems real enough.

Burning bright the fire is there,
Small but mighty so don't give in
Flames are fighting to survive
But survive they are, they must
Because we all know there is no smoke without fire.
But too much smoke can kill a fire
And you don't want that spark to go
