Conversations We Could Have Had (A Series)

A Poem by amomentforus

“I dreamed about my friends naked.”

Chuckling, “it wasn’t really their bodies, just my imagination

of their intimacy, I guess. I don’t think I could tell

them, I see them that way.”

“They might appreciate the candor.”

“They might get the wrong idea.”

“It was just a dream”

“Maybe it was

a wish, secret even to myself.

No, I don’t mean that. I think

I just miss them.”

“So you want to see them without their clothes on?”

“No, just uninhibited. We haven’t been

all together in years and it's starting

to show. Who makes time for who

and all that.

“So now you’re picking sides?”

“I’m starting to think I have to.

But if we were all naked I think

we could just laugh and

it would all be

better again.”
