Smoky Whispers

Smoky Whispers

A Poem by Manda

Smoke whirling around
Cold settling in, seeping
I begin to feel my heart pound,
Only makes me feel like weeping.

The silence is unbearable,
Louder than the thoughts inside me
Another puff here, another there
So happy no one can see me.

My thoughts of you are painful,
But I can't stop thinking of you
Your beautiful face, skin and eyes
Thoughts of your love get me through

The yells, the screams, the insults
None of them measure to your kiss
Whispers of pleasurable things,
I wonder if I'm the one you miss

I finish the smoke and feel empty inside,
All over again heartbroken and dark
I will pick up the pieces once more,
And hope you put back together my heart.

You just have a way with last lines, they just always tie it all together perfectly, I love them. I enjoyed the story aspect in this, and how it passed through the emotions as well.

Life is sure to have it's fair amount of ups and downs, goods and bad's. I felt your ink invoked the bounce of emotions that often occurs after a life change, during that time when feelings are still fresh and swirling around the head. Very nicely done.

Very melancholy...yet beauty emanates from your pen...does this person care? One ponders when in a relationship, at times, we just go through the motion...as time wears on, people just take things for granted. Excellent write.
