Forest hiatus

Forest hiatus

A Poem by M. Shepherd

Fickle as leaves
My curiosity takes a hiatus
to rove rivers that speak no english.
I blind staring at white
I treat with green
Where the sun peers
through but cannot detect me

This feels close to what I had told you of my habitual seclusion.
It feels easy. I hold your words and hug them tight.

-- ah, this is the dimension of the quintessential girl-woman i find most perplexing and most challenging to articulate... -- it's possibly one of the deepest levels of acute self-awareness... invisible... hidden... private... secret... incorruptible... and even maybe slightly (or more than slightly?) incorrigible... and i couldn't help but smile when i read about "rivers that speak no english"... :)

this is like hibernating from learning---feeling the winter of knowledge is too cold to tackle till spring...

curiosity is fickle...it is there at a whim and gone at another.
