Polish Princessa

Polish Princessa

A Story by Marjorie

My mother tucks me into bed, kisses me on the forehead. She tells me, "Marjorie, my lovely Princess, I will tell you a wonderful story about your future." She smiles and I listen very closely to her special words.

"You will come across many hardships in this life, my dear. Sometimes you will feel like this world is a cold, dark place. You will find yourself alone and lonely. There will be people that want to hurt you, to see you fail. There will be roads that you will travel that are long and it will be easy to lose your way. There will be one day when I will not be here any longer to guide you, my love. And even in these times of difficulty, you must not lose sight of the sunshine. Some days there will be clouds in the way, rain drops that drop your spirits, cold winds that chill your soul. These are the days that it will not be easy to smile. But I want you to know that the clouds and rain are there so that you can truly appreciate when the beauty arrives. If there was warm, sunshine days always, you could not know how to be so thankful for this blessing. You are so beautiful, my daughter, that there will be many men that will come to you and ask for your spirit. You must not share this with them. This is something you must hold onto to know when it is right to give it to your beloved. You will know when you find him. He will treat you like the Princess you are. Hold your hand when you feel all alone, lift your heart when you are misguided, kiss your tears when you need to cry. I want you to know that I will love you forever. You have such great potential, kwiat. I am so grateful you are mine. May you never be without love in your heart."

And I softly drifted to sleep.

Excellent!

This is an adorable little piece that conveys so many great images. It is full of simple words that comfort the mind. It is exhilarating for one really is a state of calmness when reading through the lines. The passage "You are so beautiful, my daughter, that there will be many men that will come to you and ask for your spirit." made me smile very gently. I did not know that people could call that spirit in other parts of the world, but I like it very much!

May be it could just be divided into smaller paragraphs to make the reading even smoother.
Warm like an embrace, mind soothing and eternally true are the words that describe your story best.

That's so sweet of your mother. It sounds almost like an Eastern European fairy tale.

Cool story.
