Forty Two'ed

Forty Two'ed

A Poem by Mark
"

For Helena's Blue Rose "Tovli's Ten" contest

"
 PERFUME of your soul--
 SPLENDID in its role!

 It's PRESENCE has defined
 OBLIVION in my mind.

 No PURER lesson taught
 Thy looking-GLASS sought

 From my heart's SKY;
 SERENE, I softly sigh!

 We TWO, waxing versiful
 Thank God, ever MERCIFUL!

Well, to be honest, I liked the 49 word version a lot better! This feels rather choppy to me, but...We do what we must!

This is a good use of these words, and I admire your rhyming. I have not found the time to enter this contest yet, but I know it would be challenging.

It is indeed difficult to combine ten words as this within a 40 word poem, but you have done it my friend, and I must say it has resulted in an artfully crafted read!
