METAMORPHOSIS

METAMORPHOSIS

A Poem by Mark
"

In gratitude to the Woman who, though I seemed to have no willingness to improve myself, proved that I could become willing, TO become willing! The Frog metaphor refers to a candleholder, a keeper of the flame, one of her favorite images...Didn't not

"

Something of a Frog was I--

Green, and Hard of Shell

Inventing lies to justify

My self-imposed Hell

But she lit within me

A small slow flame

That’s driving away

The grief, and pain

Since the moment I met her,

I’ve not been the same:

With Her Help, I’m Getting Well!

A wonderful poem! But were you a bit of a frog or more of a turtle hiding in your shell? lol I like your metaphors. A small flame of love lit within your heart can continue to warm your soul from the inside out, whereas a big flame can burn quickly and leave only ashes.

Very nicely penned in rhyme. I really love this one too.

I love the wave length of your humour. I just can't wait to see what you make of transmogrification. The explanation however points out that there is a lot more than comedy in this poem.
