Refreshed

Refreshed

A Poem by Mark

I drop my claw into the spine of the silvery mouse

And aim his yellow tooth skyward,

Bringing it to rest upon the square where live the two arrows.

Tapping now his left ear,

my life leaps to an earlier day, as

An horrific week is voided,

And Sanity subtly seeks to re-infuse my Soul...

Now may all whom my madness has injured

Similarly seek and find the sweet solace

Of the Refresh button.

A clever but more so, a cleansing post that says more than a tome, my friend. We should all have a Refresh button, and when I say 'all', I mean that. We all hiccup through life.

Beautiful wisdom, Mark: 'And Sanity subtly seeks to re-infuse my Soul...'

I was once told to think of SELF as being like a heart - made from sections, each doing good for most of the time, but playing tantrums now and again. The thing to remember is that in the end, it's the wholeness that matters.

As always, your post is an example of what and how to write.

I like this one Mark. Sometimes I tire of the same old stuff. I have almost decided to stop writing poetry from a fictional viewpoint and write it on thoughts and real type feelings moods, philosophies. I suspect you are doing the same. This piece is unique, and uniquely written.

Kudos~

Ah yes, we all need one of those little devices in our lives somewhere. To be able to come back from some misery with a simple act of our own wills seems a very good way to be. You capture the act of self-renewal perfectly. I can imaging this poem meaning a lot to anyone reading it who does not have the capacity naturally within them. Your words cld make a real difference to such a person when they are down and feel unable to get up. The poem is simple but makes a key point.

Oh if only it was so easy to turn back time and delete the undesireable days, weeks, months, or years. But, even the refresh button can't unring a bell. So, one can only hope to learn from whatever they feel the need to escape so he/she can make better choices next time they may face a similar situation.

This is quite witty yet speaks of pain and regret. Nicely penned as always.

Mark, my dear friend... I know how you feel. I have to agree with Luke... I too was seeing the poor little rodent being tortured a while, but in reality, it was the mouse taunting the cat, not the other way around. Alas, the Refresh button does not always work. I find that sometimes I have to call in the really Big Guns... and press Cntrl/Alt/Delete, cross my fingers, and... pray for the best when I select "End Task". Sometimes I even have to power off and back on again when things seem stuck in time. I always hope that when I power back on, all is not lost.

Av friend at work recently repeated something to me, "The only explanation I can give for how my computer behaves in the morning is that it gets drunk at night" Perhaps our souls and thoughts are more attuned to our poor vagrant computers than we give them credit for?

Cool and refreshing Mark. I like this poem. It has a tendency to circumnavigate the usual generalities of this site. GOOD JOB!

Mark,
what a wonderful multi-meaning piece you have written. I see this as living through this "electronic" life, and when it ends not the way we desire, the ever ready "refresh" button is there to help us start anew. Really applies to life in many ways. Brilliant piece, truly outstanding.
