Firelight In The Dusk

Firelight In The Dusk

A Poem by Benjamin Seymour

I don't mean to patronise
But it just feels like
Firelight in the dusk

Take me for a ride
That I never wanted to go on
Down the long and winding roads

Visit old ghosts of mine
Weary and fatigued
In the shadows of the sun

You'll be by my side
Until the day I ask
If you're going to stay

I don't mean to patronise
But it just feels like
Firelight in the dusk

One day it'll die
Just like you and I
With only ashes left behind

Just like you and I
To be the only ones left behind

You've nailed the flow of this one. my favourite line has to be; even with the dark sentiments;
'One day it'll die
Just like you and I
With only ashes left behind'
I agree with lizzie though it is a little bleak.
catch u soon,
Jai
