Perfect Little W***e

Perfect Little W***e

A Poem by Benjamin Seymour

A perfect circle can be drawn

Between your smile and your frown

Immaculate attention to detail

Hair tousled black in shambolic disgrace

In a ballerina dress and midnight gothic lace

A contradiction if ever I saw

Perfect little w***e

Lemongrass scent and honeyed visage

Flirting your way through the crowd

Never pausing for more than a tease

A drink to hand that is never spilt

Pristine manicured locks and envy for all

In satin-rouged dress and re-painted face

A contradiction if ever I saw

Perfect little w***e

Makes me think of the "hot topic punks". Also a perfect contradiction. Nice write though.

My fave. line is: "A perfect circle can be drawn
Between your smile and your frown"

I liked the word "shambolic." Thought that was very intuitive, reads to me the combination of shambles and symbolic. Other then that, it's well-written, couldn't really take anything from it although.

Oy, bitterness much? I feel as if this poem might sting if read alloud. Though for some reason it brings to mind not so much a bad break up as just someone brushes aside for another. I like the details like the satin rouged dress, and the Lemon grass scent.

I have to say that I was slightly disappointed, Ben.

I'm not really sure, but this just doesn't have the same, ........ "Ben-ness" to it. I feel like you're still missing your spunk.
