It's just the two of us at the end.

It's just the two of us at the end.

A Poem by Matt Later

It's just the two of us at the end.
You're lying on your side in the dirt somewhere
Wondering where the others are, wondering
Why I don't help you. You're in pain
But I can't help you.

You look into my eyes because I'm the only one left.
By now you can feel the weight of this moment
Of the breath spent between us. You know that this
Is the last look you'll ever share. And in that last moment
I look away.
