Trance

Trance

A Story by Mayur Sadhu

"One more, please!", I ordered for one more beer at the bar.
"One more? Are you mad?", Snehil asked. I was two cans down, and this was the third one for me. Snehil accompanied me, for some boozing, but he was getting worried for my over drinking.
"Yeah! I'm mad! I can't stand this world of perils!", I said, as I gulped down some of the intoxicating liquor, for the third time. I was getting out of my senses.
"You have to! You can't harm yourself just for someone who left you alone!", he said.
"I don't want to live! No one loves me.", I said, as I crushed on the bar table. The people at the bar were observing us, hindering the settlement of the ideal boozing environment.
"You have to live! Why do you care for her, when she doesn't even cares for you?", he asked.
"F**k! I do care for her. I don't know why, but I do. It has been a year, since she left me, but it seems that her presence is strongly felt in my heart!"
I had by now entered the state of trance, entered a world of legalities, a world that could be moulded into the way I wanted. I was talking non-sense, howling, cursing Snehil for no reason, but he seemed nothing to care about.
"Let's go from here!", Snehil said, as he picked me up.
The bar tender had previously warned us twice, to remain silent, but who cares when you are in a state of unruliness. I too didn't cared. I continued with my non-sense.
"Keep yourself calm! Let's go!", Snehil warned me, and held me by my shoulder, and helped me to walk out of the bar.
My nerves had failed. I couldn't even walk properly, but my unconscious talking continued. This time it had gone from cursing Snehil, to her, the one who left me. The one who made me undergo this state.
"Do you have any cigarette, weed or dendrite?", I asked, as he made me sit on the pavement outside the bar. I badly wanted to get lost in the world of trance, the world of artificial perfection.
There was no response from his side. I shouted the same line once again. Still no response.
"Hey you b*****d?", I shouted.
Tsak! Tsak! Something hit hard my face. Tsak! Once again. This time, much harder. I was thrown aside. Snehil slapped me.
"What the f**k? What the f**k has happened to you?", I asked, as I got some senses back, but still I didn't got the road to travel back to the world of reality.
"Enough is enough! If you want to die, die for yourself, don't die for others. Have you ever realized what would happen when your parents will hear this bad news? When you said that no one loves you, didn't you remembered your family, your friends, who will be there by your side always. Its coz of people like you, for whom others don't even get a chance to look back into life, after their relationship is over. The only option for them is death, but that's not the answer to their "crushed" world! If she loves you, she will come back. Or else, if you really want to do take revenge, be something, such that she would realize that she had lost someone, someone who could have made her life, more beautiful, more lovely, than what she is now!", he completed his Ceasar-ian speech.
"Ummmm....... But........ I don't know...... Ummmmm........ You are right!", I was regaining some of my senses back. I was lost of my words, after such a speech. I calmed down, as I realized my fault.
"Let's go back!", he said.
"To the bar?", I asked jokingly.
"A*****e! DO you want some more hard hitting slaps?"
"Sorry......... I think you are right! I should make her realize someday that she had lost someone precious!"
"You should!", he said and picked me up, and we drove back to our hostel.

Thanks.
Wow, i almost cried at the story. I sometimes go into a state of unruliness, and dont want to be bothered by anyone. I just wanted to sleep all day, and didnt even care to eat. I was aggrivated at the people who tried to help me. Like my mom, dad, my beloved sister, and my friend Taylor. (Im still in high school btw) It is an very horrid state in my life. I just came out of it a week ago. Now im trying my very best to honor people i love the most. =)

Some good sense drilled into him finally. We all have our moments when we feel let down and very emotional. I relate to this absolutely.

You have expressed your feelings very well here Mayur. And also the remedy for a broken heart. Thanks for sharing this.
