Please Don't Stare

Please Don't Stare

A Poem by Maylea

 Please Don’t Stare.

Please Don’t Stare.

I touch my cold face

What is it you see?

I smooth out my shirt

Why do you look at me?

Please don’t stare

I’m sure they can’t see

They can’t already know

They aren’t looking at me

They aren’t staring at me

Please don’t stare

I’m covered in his stains

Everywhere he was

Left behind his remains

No one knows

What he did.

Please don’t stare

Maybe he broke my heart
But you wouldn’t know
Maybe I’m falling apart
But you can’t see what’s really there

So please don’t stare.

Maybe I’d tell

I went through hell

Maybe you’d care

No

 You’d just stand and stare

I turn away and start to run

I just need to hide

I can’t feel the pain anymore

I’ve already died inside

Please don’t stare…
