Shin Splits

Shin Splits

A Poem by #SecretWriter
"

I saw a competition for sad poems or struggles and I can't seem to share poems about my problems, so here is one about how I used to find the gym. Disclaimer- people at the gym don't laugh at you.

"
I know a lot of people think they have it rough right now,
But when it comes to sadness, I drank the milk and bought the cow.
My body bleeds,
My shins, they scream,
And when I think I've had enough,
I go the next day,
I pray and I pray,
"When will my luck pay off".

You can see I work so hard,
When will the mirror match my graft.

I can't eat carbs and my belly jiggles,
In every session my body wiggles,
The bigger guys can laugh and laugh,
But one day I'll be there,
fit as a fiddle.

Love the humor in this. At first, I wondered if you had a laborer's job and then the twist of the gym scene was nicely introduced. Nobody likes the gym at first. Wonderful :)

I believe hard work and persistence pays off.. Keep doing what you do.
Each day is a step closer to your goal.

Nicely penned. :)
