Ten Year's After

In memory of my husband, Jeff Harris

Every moment of my days and nights

I feel your presence

Not by your choice,

You can no longer be near to touch, hear or guide me

You are in my mind and heart

You now meet my needs silently

So smoothly and gently you touched my soul

I am not alone and never will be

You were and always will be a part of my life

 

A love so rare, it still comforts me

We share two lives as one

The wind brings sounds of your laughter

I carry this rare love with me throughout life

All of this is mine, because of you

 

You are still my constant companion

When faced with a challenge

I still rely on your ways of reasoning

My heart is still full

Because you filled it

 

As I wake in the morning,

After a night of crying myself to sleep

I think of a wonderful memory of you

Then I laugh with you in the sun of a new day

 

Because you were you

You still complete me!
