Fear in Me

Fear in Me

A Poem by Meerie_EJ

Dark heart, would I could depart.
Oh, for dread.
Your wicked lines strike fear in me.
I beg release.
Regress, oh, deep dark heart.
If only you could see
How my wearying soul, loses ground against thee,
But, there I see,
My love who loves me, sure and strong.
In an echo of love,
the resurgence of my love’s sweet, sweet heart, seek me out!
Oh, seek me out!
Like the cadence of bells ringing, deep and low.
All past fear and woe,
when returning, has over me no powers,
because of my Love.
Like a drought defeated by swift showers,
pain before,
is now, in present times no more!
What love I find,
to me, my Love somehow seems divine.
Strange indeed,
How love inspires fear to recede,
and in its place, flowering like a rose in spring,
a love I see.
And then, like morning it dawns on me.
bewildering, I find,
that the love I love, loves me.
And I rest,
Knowing that we two shall be, in our own sense divine
