If I Could Spell "Love"

If I Could Spell "Love"

A Poem by Meliss@k

If I could spell
"Love"
With a brush
And paint,
I'd spell it out
With blood from a Saint
Who was spit on and cursed
For doing no wrong,
I'd gather a canvas
And wipe it white
Till the blood seeps through
To the other side.
I'd drink up the blood
With a sacred bread heal
And watch my withered body
Slowly
Start to heal.
As a stitch is sewn
From the inside out
A crowd
Ties my knot
In their world of doubt,
Still disbelieving
Blinded to seeing
Blood spilling out of
A lamb and his crown.

Which poem would you suggest? :)
A Biblical translation of this poem:

John 15:13 King James Version (KJV)
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

You definitely took a different course with this write... this just tears into you as a reader and the whole intent I believe you wanted to get across to the audience... Believer or not... this speaks out...

Thank you so much glen!
an ode to faith that the modern world does not, by and large, share...there is a strength here...a determination to be unchanged by what you call disbelief...the open lines are very inspired...and the idea that the crowd ties a knot suggests some sort of martyrdom...strong words
