Just Friends

Just Friends

A Poem by Meliss@k
"

I’ll Try

"
Ive never been “Just Friends” before,
-Sitting by the lake, listening to each other breathe
-Enjoying cups of coffee, while revealing souls through simple smiles or word play,
“Just Friends” who text each other updates on meteor showers and lunar eclipse’s,
With more texts- for birthdays, and Easter’s, and simple “well wishes”
-and, of course, other normal things I guess all, “just friends,” should do or say:
•you’re an incredible person
•well hello, to what do I owe this pleasure?
•you know, you looked pretty, tonight, with each moment the light graced your face
.Just Friends.
with JUST enough space; while subtly praying the other never moves away...
No expectations.
No certainties...
Loving but never, knowing,
Beside each other, yet worlds away,
...“Just Friends”...
going out for dinner, while insisting not to let the other pay...
‘You can do anything you set your mind to,’
they say...
But I’ve never done this before...

...“Just Friends”...
I’ll try it...
I’ll do it for you...
If it means another,
Maybe one more,
day- Just us Two
