Marble Eyes

Marble Eyes

A Poem by ali
"

A follow-up to Universe. Marble Eyes describes the feeling of bending over backwards for someone and they don't notice at all.

"

Your marble eyes

And rosy nose

Seagrass hair

With silken clothes

Into my heart

Carved your name like a tree

Through your bright marble eyes

I'd just hoped that you'd see

That I fell to my knees

Gave my soul to your lungs

Hoping if I were a breeze

I could be blessed amongst

For I broke grounds for you

Sweet like golden sunshine

Broke the wide universe

Cause I want you for mine

& the stars as they turn

& the curls of the sea

Sitting listening close

Whispering, "did you see?"

For I fall from the sky

I will scream, I will cry

With the hopes that you'll see

With your bright marble eyes

It reminded me of someone caught up starring at someone a little bit like my boyfriend when he gets inspired.
