Der Scouser Pome

Der Scouser Pome

A Poem by Gerald Parker

Anything goes
And lovely
Is the rose
The internet
Has made
Poets
Of us all
Shouted
A one-eyed
Man with
A tickling stick
He was
Just standing
There like
One of Lewis's
On Lime Street
in Liverpool
It was raining
His make-up
Was running
His willy
Was dripping
The crowd
Was cheering
Or were they
Jeering?
Who knows?
Anything goes
And lovely
Is the rose
The internet
Has made
Poets
Of us all
He was shouting
His head off
Some little Scousers
Kicked it
All the way
Down
The street
To the River Mersey
It was still
Shouting
Anything goes
And lovely
Is the rose
The internet
Has made

Poets
Of us all.

Thanks, JungLee. It's a very Liverpudlian poem.

There's not much to tell. I read a lot of poetry and I read my own poetry regularly. I hope other people read it and derive as much pleasure out of it as I do. My output is small, about 110 poems as I.. more..
