I'm just about the opposite: In the morning I'm exhausted before I begin. After stout coffee I do physical chores or go to work. In the afternoon, I read. In the evening, I write. Sometimes the writing keeps me up, late into the night. Sometimes I'll go to bed and wake up at 1:30 in the morning with something in my head, write it down, then go back to sleep as soon as I've finished. For a long time I never wrote poems in the daylight hours. They were just a way of removing thoughts from my head at night so I could sleep.
For you, apparently, it is a way to clear your mind for the day ahead. I suppose my mind prioritizes the ability to sleep more than the ability to awaken. I like my dreams too much. :)
This is a well done rhyme, as you already know. You handled this without the cliches many seem to use when describing why they are "morning people". It gives one a sense of peace and calm, and an insight into who the poet is. Good work.
I understand this completely - you are right. I either work best late at night or early in the morning depending on my schedule. When the muse strikes you must take up quill. Beautifully descriptive. Nice work. Thank you.

This is probably one of the best rhymed poems I've had the pleasure of reading. Very nicely done! It's nice to read about writing, and what inspires it, and how you go about it in your morning. Lovely piece!
