Seas Of Misery

Seas Of Misery

A Poem by Undying Glory

Another write like 'Shattered", only now it's abuse within love and marriage. Inspired by "Face Down" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Enjoy!

Seas Of Misery
The cold wind blows through the night
As happiness disappears from sight
And she curls up next to a picture of you
But with tears in her eyes, and sadness so true
Say that you love her, say she's the one
As you held her so tight in the setting sun
She wipes her eyes, and feels her scars
All the times you pushed things just too far
And she prays for the prince that she once knew
The one who saves her whenever she's blue

Stranded upon the seas of misery
As she sails on forevermore
And the world stops as she searches endlessly
Trying to find a distant shore

Do you feel so brave?
Do you feel so strong?
When you hit her and punch her on and on
As she fingers the scars you left behind
Remembering the times before, so fine
Under the moonlight together, as you kissed her tight
And you loved her and said you would make things right
Her tears cascade down, and she's just so mad
Whatever did she do to be hurt so bad

Stranded upon the seas of misery
As she sails on forevermore
And the world stops as she searches endlessly
Trying to find a distant shore

She blows her candles out, all of them, but one
Knowing you never finished what you shouldn't have begun
And she clutches the photo of her and you
The one where you swore your love was so true
And she touches the corner to the hungry flame
Like how her heart smoldered on again and again
And she walks away, as the ashes fall
Don't cry or be sorry, she won't care at all
She's over you, and she's had enough
She's finally out to find her true love

sometimes you can't help but love the one person who hurts you the most.
sometimes you're doomed.

Poem is very good. I like the story and your description. We must overcome sadness to be able to find a better road to be on. A excellent poem.

This is a really good piece of work. It holds a lot of emotion... Especially for me, someone who's been through than and then has gone on to find her true love. Well written.

such a unique idea. i was reminded of dawson's creek when i first started reading this. anyway, i say this was quite a good write. i'd just re-read it once more, maybe out loud, so you can smooth out the flow which was just in the tiniest bit shaky.
a great write. and uniqueness i always appreciate! so thank you! and keep writing!

Nice writing. This story is sad and full of sorrow, but things seem
to be better in the end. It leaves me to wonder what the affects of
this lifestyle will be. The ending is a glass half full in a way.

I like it a lot.
