This Lie

This Lie

A Poem by mhylands

This chaos overwhelming, crashing through my delusions
Insecure and pacified, throwing up in spite of myself

I cannot touch the mask behind which you hide
It is so easy for you to drag me into your lie

Ink spilt upon your blank canvas
No longer can I see the difference in your stains
It means nothing to me...
You could have been so much more...

I look forward to when you come undone
When there is no one...
Left to save you
I truly wonder what will become
Of you...
When there is not someone who cares

Get out of my head
I'm done with this
Stay away
I cannot bear the thought

Everything...
I will always miss
Nothing...
I could do to change this

Now, I embrace the nothingness left behind
Where I am unable to hold onto
False promises...
False memories...

Leave me now, for I cannot comprehend
How I became drowned in your ink

Leave me now, for I cannot endure
The lies that became of me

The fangs that will not let me escape
The web in which I became so entangled
