My Safe Place

Why do I have this urge

To run away from everything

But you

It scares me

How much faith trust

I have for you

I tend to push people away

Yet for you I just run to,

You’re my safe place

I never knew some ones arms

Could make me feel so safe

They lock me in a world

That’s too sweet to exist

They block out reality

For just awhile we’re together

I blink my eyes and you’re gone

Quickly reality takes a hold of me

And confusion sweeps over me

I forget who I was

And quickly I search for our world

To that one place

Where everything is perfect

Where everything is safe

Where tears and lies never existed

Just you and me together

No lost pieces of who I am

For my other half is with me

Just you and me together

They can’t separate us forever
