Anaesthetized

Anaesthetized

A Poem by Michael McNally

Embracing the quiet i breathe in deep
Reality steadies its shaky hand
Lying inches away from death or from sleep
The strength in me can no longer stand

Replaying over the same broken tune
I stare now into an abyss
No longer sure of the sun or the moon
A wild thought too quickly dismissed

Time becomes a burden unmatched
For a mortal unsure of his mind
Somewhat alone but forever attached
To the echos of thoughts left behind.
