A Poem by mikl paul

writing poems in the morning.

-----

because I want the poem to find you      waiting

for yourself.             And with writing     there

is all of this     falling  in   love,      with  everyone

all of the times       and     lust        but for your

story       against your skin         gathering   lush

with the intent to   leave you   behind    and

may I follow     the shadow of your   brightest

lie      and to study the language there      because

it has neverbeen  true      and to speak into your

shoulder blades in the tongue of fiction demands

that first I imagine your heart              broken

or  wanting     or  impossibly kind    then

      marrow pause and welcome open,

      have me;          cascade through all

as a lightning storm in the desert everything

you touch turning into f*****g magic      and after

    the mouths unknown      or unfound,

as moths cover lights we brought with us,

from the otherness of our lives, where we

are named and clothed and hush.

~ i've been reading you since some time now and you astound me each time you write... i apologize profusely for not saying so earlier... it's got nothing to do with you... i've just been too caught up with the din within... but let me just say... that the way you celebrate the beauty of everything... from words to love... to the manner of presenting words... and all else that you write about... is truly astounding... thank you for sharing your work on this site... it's a privilege to read you...

I cherish this poem, the imagery you presented allow my to live in the moment of the love that formed. Pulling me in the story over and over again. I really enjoyed how you broke up specific phrases allowing them to stand out. Simply wonderful, thanks for sharing.

thank you for taking the time to read and respond.
like the extending, that not only 'as moths cover lights' but that the lights were brought with.

thank you.
Oh I really like this one. Read it three times over and I have to say it's pure gold. I am absolutely in love with your imagery.

" falling in love, with everyone

all of the times and lust but for your

story against your skin...speak into your shoulder blades"

Absolutely beautiful.
