A Poem by mikl paul

while she walks, while she finds.

mikl paul

--------

they chose to hesitate   beside a patch

of stones,     moss covered,   the green of

your dreams and brighter.      birds everelsewhere,

and   quiet following    beyond the rush of her

legs against the hem of skirt,      a slight crunch of

leaves and  the keys in her   hand.      a familiar

path,      found;   after a storm, once, a  window

frame, lodge between the branches of a tree.

found;    after a book, once,   a   bag

filled with letters from a soldier to an absent

father.      found;   after a bottle, once,   the

first taste of warmth with a mechanics son

who had weighted hands.            she lays

herself upon   the once      upon some     canopy

of hunger    and when she    sighs this way

opens through      the once    and memory is a

lover with waited hands,      as  the  green is going

real and the     petals of the early trees  arc

like sails within a looking glass.

Really nice presentation and aesthetic intricacy Mikl! Good luck with your publishing company. If that is indeed what it is?
