the infinate cycle

the infinate cycle

A Poem by mily

I'm not skinny enough

Not curvy enough

Why is my skin so texturized?

Why is the girl on my Instagram feed so much prettier than me?

Its ok,

Ill pose for the perfect angle,

Suck in my stomach,

Ill out on a filter and photoshop backside to look bigger

I tag all my friends and ex

And as I press post,

The thought of the little girls comparing themselves to the fake image I put up slips my mind

And with my ignorance the endless cycle repeats itself

Now a new generation of little girls are holding their stomach,

Looking at my picture and wondering

Why don’t I look like that”
