Tango

Tango

A Poem by Amy

He grabs my hand in his,

and takes me to the dance floor,

stretching his arm in a straight line,

attaching mine with great force.

The music begins,

as our feet keep in time,

following his lead,

his foot, then mine.

My dress is black and full,

my skirt flows with every turn,

he places a rose between my teeth,

as he holds me,

his expression remains stern.

His strength is incredible,

his beat is always right,

his body is close to mine,

as we dance under the light.

We sharply turn our heads,

quickly to the tune,

his hand is placed firmly on my back,

he will kiss me very soon.

The forbidden dance is what they call it,

I take pride in every step,

the melody dwells my thoughts,

as I dance with no regrets.
