Borders of Silence

Borders of Silence

A Poem by MissRed
"

How everything changes

"

in a harsh temple of reality we live

cold and desperate

when we turn to each other to see

we don't see at all

after years of knowing nothing

we are suddenly helpless

you don't say much anymore

i can't remember the last time we talked

we touch sometimes

but it doesn't feel the same

it is hot and sticky like summer

your hands though are clammy with sickness

what is so wrong with us that we have forgotten

i think of you without a face or name

and though i try, i can't remember your voice

i studied the ceiling for hours

there isn't a trace of you and i in this room

not even in the sheets we've slept on so many times

the air conditioner kicks on with a hum

and you stir beside me

the signs of the city spread artificial light on us

you look golden, then blue, then green

you keep changing over and over

looking at you i grow tired and fall back to sleep.
