ParalyzedA Poem by Michael Reggiani
Paralyzed.
Not a state of being, but a simple idea A f*****g idea yet I can't move can't breath can't even make a sound The room is spinning and Theres voices all around say something, anything let her know your there Still your paralyzed and she's thinking you don't even f*****g care But You love her, you love her more than you ever thought you could More than you know you should And that's the horror of this game that's the root of it's parasitic name LOVE, a fools paradise, and it's oh so very clever It pulls you further down until your love is lost forever So I severed mind from passion and now I'm just a shell Cowering inside while creating a personal hell Left to dwell In my fears, alone once again Count to ten, it'll be better by then, this nightmare will have it's end My friend, the nightmares are real, They don't live in the dark They live in my head not my heart They simply come alive at night, when I'm weakest there's no fight So you see, they eat at me and soon I'll snap You see, It's fear that broke the camels back Fact: there's a million words I'd love to say but I'm frozen ... Frozen and I'm numb, can't feel a f*****g thing but my heart is pounding like a drum Try to down the rum, thinking that'll give you courage But you've succumb, acting dumb and that's were fear emerges Ice surges through your veins, and stains your perception of love until it's crimson red Until it rushes to your head where passion collides And your strength comes crashing like the tides No where to hide, can't say that you cried But you did, your just a kid, man you gotta find your head Close your eyes and you rehearse every word she's ever said I love you, why don't you say it back But your paralyzed and it's courage that you lack.
