Another Road

Another Road

A Poem by Michael McLaughlin

Another Road

I've looked a million times this way,
And never seen a thing,
But walked another road today,
To see what it would bring.
From where I stood it looked the same,
But now I see it's not.
So distant from the way I came,
I've lost myself in thought.
I realize I can't look away,
And say I'll never know.
Because this path led me astray,
I've been where others go.
The things I've seen along this road,
Are not what I have known.
And all the blessings God bestowed,
Into my mind are sewn.
