Nothing But Shadows

Nothing But Shadows

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

A pre-coffee poem!

"

Nothing But Shadows

It’s 6 am; and my brain is still asleep

Nothing but shadows before my eyes; deep

Down are any intelligent thoughts

Elusive are any good ideas that I’ve got

There’s danger lurking in this keyboard

Any warning to delete goes unheeded; out the door

Any terrible, disjointed thoughts will be written down

Until the coffee kicks in , I won't come around
