Evil Twin

Evil Twin

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

THAT explains it!

"

There's a strange dude who follows me around,

mirrors what I do, except one difference--he's wound

way tighter than me--he's invisible, but he's who I blame

for making bad or terrible decisions (at least that's what I claim!)

because Shirley twasn't I. Whereas I'm perfectly rational

all of the time, always--he makes insane, sensational

judgment-boners--he causes me to pick the wrong choice, or act

in ways contrary to how the world sees me, and that's a fact

I've just got to believe, that it wasn't me, it was him!

My invisible evil twin who lives in my head--yes, he's rather dim.

He causes me to temporarily take leave of my senses.

When he's in charge, bastardy and negativity commences!
