It's a Hell of a Town!

It's a Hell of a Town!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Election-Fest, baby!

"
Verse:

I've got to hurry--this is a big day,

depending on what the voter's say.

No time for things like bathroom breaks,

you'd be surprised what a mess that makes,

Pre-Chorus:

but I'll put up with it--it's a small price to pay.

All-day election coverage, and I can't look away!

Verse:

Hillary, Bernie, The Donald, and Cruz,

Kasich's in there too, but he's going to lose,

never mind he's the only one on the Republican side

who would make a halfway decent America guide!

Pre-Chorus:

It's got me on the edge of my seat,

this battle to see who can be more indiscreet!

Chorus:

New York, New York, It's a Hell of a Town,

there's upstate too, but let's quit fooling around,

the media thinks New York City's the best,

hence, that's why we're inundated with Election-Fest!

Verse:

Come 6 o'clock--at least here on the west coast,

one will be gloating, and the losers may want to give up the ghost.

It's impossible to cover the damn thing too much,

and yet some people say the media's out of touch!

Pre-Chorus:

Not me, boy, I can't get enough!

How else is one to know one's stuff?

Repeat Chorus:

End
